MARIBOR, Oct. 11, 2008 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 (European Qualifiers) : Slovenia defeated Northern Ireland by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2010 FIFA World Cup on Saturday night.
The result put the Slovenians top of Group 3 with 7 points. Northern Ireland is 5th with one point. In their next game, Slovenia will meet Czech republic on October 15, while Northern Ireland will face San Marino.
