MOSCOW, Mar. 28, 2009 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 (European Qualifiers) : Russia defeated Azerbaijan by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2010 FIFA World Cup on Saturday afternoon.
The result put the Russians second in Group 4 with 9 points. Azerbaijan is 5th with one point. In their next game, Russia will meet Liechtenstein on April 1, while Azerbaijan will face Wales.
