MINSK, Oct. 15, 2008 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 (European Qualifiers) : England defeated Belarus by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 1-1), in a qualifying game for the 2010 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday night.

The result put the English top of Group 6 with 12 points. Belarus is fourth with 3 points. In their next game, England will meet third-placed Ukraine on April 1, while Belarus will face Kazakhstan.
