LONDON, Sep. 9, 2009 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 (European Qualifiers) : England defeated Croatia by a big score of 5-1 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2010 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday night.

The result put the English top of Group 6 with 24 points. Croatia is second with 17 points. In their next game, England will meet third-placed Ukraine on October 10, while Croatia will face Kazakhstan.
