KAUNAS, Oct. 15, 2008 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 (European Qualifiers) : Lithuania defeated the Faroe islands by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2010 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday night.
The result put the Lithuanians top of Group 7 with 9 points. The Faroe islands is bottom with one point. In their next game, Lithuania will meet France on March 28, while the Faroe islands will face Serbia.
