REYKJAVíK, Sep. 10, 2008 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 (European Qualifiers) : Scotland defeated Iceland by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2010 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday night.

The result put the Scot second in Group 9 with 3 points. Iceland is fourth with one point. In their next game, Scotland will meet third-placed Norway on October 11, while Iceland will face the Netherlands.
