SKOPJE, Jun. 10, 2009 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 (European Qualifiers) : Macedonia defeated Iceland by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2010 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday afternoon.
The result put the Macedonians third in Group 9 with 7 points. Iceland is fourth with 4 points. In their next game, Macedonia will meet second-placed Scotland on September 5, while Iceland will face Norway.
