Netherlands beats Costa Rica in shoot out to advance to World Cup semifinals
SALVADOR, Jul. 5, 2014 (AMP) — Brazil 2014 : The Netherlands reached the semifinals of the 2014 FIFA World Cup after defeating Costa Rica 4-3 on penalties (after a 0-0 draw) on Saturday afternoon at the Arena Fonte Nova in Salvador.
The score was still nil-all at the end of the regulation game time and overtime. The Dutchs finally emerged the victors in the penalty shootout session by winning 4-3.
