BRASíLIA, Jul. 12, 2014 (AMP) — Brazil 2014 : The Netherlands secured the consolation of third place at the 2014 FIFA World Cup with a 3-0 win against Brazil (halftime: 2-0) on Saturday afternoon at the Mane Garrincha Stadium in Brasília.
The Netherlands dominated the first half thanks to goals from Robin van Persie ('3 on penalty) and Blind ('17). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Dutchs further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Wijnaldum in stoppage time.
