DUBLIN, Sep. 6, 2013 (AMP) — Brazil 2014 (European Qualifiers) : Sweden defeated Ireland by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-1), in a qualifying game for the 2014 FIFA World Cup on Friday night.
The result put the Swedish second in Group C with 14 points. Ireland is fourth with 11 points. In their next game, Sweden will meet Kazakhstan on September 10, while Ireland will face Austria.
