MOSCOW, Oct. 16, 2012 (AMP) — Brazil 2014 (European Qualifiers) : Russia defeated Azerbaijan by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2014 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night.
The result put the Russians top of Group F with 12 points. Azerbaijan is 5th with one point. In their next game, Russia will meet third-placed Portugal on June 7, while Azerbaijan will face Northern Ireland.
