SAINT DENIS, Sep. 11, 2012 (AMP) — Brazil 2014 (European Qualifiers) : France defeated Belarus by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2014 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night at the Stade de France in Saint Denis.
45 minutes of play and neither the Frenchs nor the Belarusians have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with goals by Capoue ('49), Jallet ('68) and Ribéry ('80).
The result put the French top of Group I with 6 points. Belarus is bottom with no points. In their next game, France will meet Spain at the Stade de France on October 16, while Belarus will face Spain.
