France beats Argentina to reach World Cup quarterfinals
KAZAN, Jun. 30, 2018 (AMP) — Russia 2018 : France qualified to the quarter-finals of the 2018 FIFA World Cup with a 4-3 win against Argentina (halftime: 1-1) on Saturday afternoon at the Kazan Arena.
Mbappé scored dual goals
French midfielder Antoine Griezmann opened the score in the 13th minute on penalty, before seeing Argentina catch up in the 41st minute thanks to Ángel Di María. 1-1 at half time. The Frenchs eventually won the game in the second period with three more goals by Pavard ('57) and Mbappé ('64, '68).
