Croatia beats Russia in shoot out to advance to World Cup semifinals
SOCHI, Jul. 7, 2018 (AMP) — Russia 2018 : Croatia reached the semifinals of the 2018 FIFA World Cup after defeating Russia 4-3 on penalties (after a 2-2 draw) on Saturday night at the Fisht Olympic Stadium in Sochi.
The score was still 2-2 at the end of the regulation game time and overtime, after goals from Denis Cheryshev ('31) and Fernandes ('115) for Russia and Andrej Kramarić ('39) and Domagoj Vida ('101) for Croatia. The Croatians finally emerged the victors in the penalty shootout session by winning 4-3.
