World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Liberia hold Guinea-Bissau to 1-1

MONROVIA, Oct. 8, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (African Qualifiers) : Liberia tied 1-1 with Guinea-Bissau (halftime: 1-0), in the first leg of a World Cup qualifier tie on Thursday afternoon at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia.

The Liberians started off well by taking the lead thanks to Liberian forward William Jebor on penalty in the 36th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Guinea-Bissau with a saving goal from Anido in the 63rd minute.

The second leg between Liberia and Guinea-Bissau will be played on Tuesday October 13, 2015 (kick-off: 16:00) in Bissau.
