World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Madagascar draw 2-2 with Senegal
ANTANANARIVO, Nov. 13, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (African Qualifiers) : Madagascar tied 2-2 with Senegal (halftime: 1-0), in the first leg of a World Cup qualifier tie on Friday afternoon at the Mahamasina Municipal Stadium in Antananarivo.
The Malagasys started off well by taking the lead thanks to Malagasy forward Andriatsima in the 27th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, and despite Rakotoharimalala goal ('59) in the second period, they could not prevent a comeback by Senegal with goals by Mame Biram Diouf ('71) and Mané ('81).
The second leg between Madagascar and Senegal will be played on Tuesday November 17, 2015 (kick-off: 19:00) in Dakar.
