ADDIS ABABA, Nov. 14, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (African Qualifiers) : Congo-Brazzaville defeated Ethiopia by a score of 4-3 (halftime: 1-1), in the first leg of a World Cup qualifier tie on Saturday afternoon at the Addis Ababa Stadium.

Getaneh opened the score in the 41st minute, before seeing Congo-Brazzaville catch up in the 43rd minute thanks to Thievy Bifouma. 1-1 at half time. The Congoleses eventually won the game in the second period with three more goals by Ondama ('63), N'Dinga ('75) and Binguila ('81).

The second leg between Ethiopia and Congo-Brazzaville will be played on Tuesday November 17, 2015 (kick-off: 16:00) in Brazzaville.
