DAR ES SALAAM, Nov. 14, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (African Qualifiers) : Tanzania tied 2-2 with Algeria (halftime: 1-0), in the first leg of a World Cup qualifier tie on Saturday afternoon at the Tanzania National Main Stadium in Dar Es Salaam.

The Tanzanians started off well by taking the lead thanks to Maguri in the 43rd minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, and despite Samatta goal ('55) in the second period, they could not prevent a comeback by Algeria with dual goals from Algerian forward Islam Slimani ('72 and '75.

The second leg between Tanzania and Algeria will be played on Tuesday November 17, 2015 (kick-off: 19:15) in Blida.
