World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : DR Congo beats Guinea 2-1
CONAKRY, Nov. 13, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (African Qualifiers) : DR Congo defeated Guinea by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 0-1), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Sunday afternoon at the Stade du 28 Septembre in Conakry.
Guinea had started off well by taking the lead in the 23rd minute with a goal by Soumah on penalty. Trailing 1-0 at half time, the congoleses nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring twice in the second period (Kebano '54 and Bolasie '57).
The result put the congolese top of Group A with 6 points. Guinea is third with no points. In their next game, DR Congo will meet second-placed Tunisia at the Stade du 28 Septembre on September 1, while Guinea will face Libya.
