CONAKRY, Aug. 31, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (African Qualifiers) : Guinea defeated Libya by a score of 3-2 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday afternoon at the Stade du 28 Septembre in Conakry.
Guinea dominated the first half thanks to goals from Keïta ('7) and D. Camara ('22). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Guineans further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Alk. Bangoura in stoppage time.
The result put the Guineans third in Group A with 3 points. Libya is bottom with no points. In their next game, Guinea will meet Libya at the Stade du 28 Septembre on September 4, while Libya will face Guinea.
