World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Tunisia beats DR Congo 2-1
RADES, Sep. 1, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (African Qualifiers) : Tunisia defeated DR Congo by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-1), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Friday night at the Rades Olympic Stadium.
Meriah opened the score in the 18th minute on penalty, before seeing DR Congo catch up in the 43rd minute thanks to Bakambu. 1-1 at half time. The Tunisians eventually won the game in the second period with with a goal by Chaalali in the 47th minute.
The result put the Tunisians top of Group A with 9 points. DR Congo is second with 6 points. In their next game, Tunisia will meet second-placed DR Congo at the Rades Olympic Stadium on September 5, while DR Congo will face Tunisia.
