World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : DR Congo and Tunisia play out 2-2 draw
KINSHASA, Sep. 5, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (African Qualifiers) : DR Congo tied 2-2 with Tunisia (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night at the Stade des Martyrs de la Pentecôte in Kinshasa.
The congoleses started off well by taking the lead thanks to Mbemba in the 9th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, and despite M'Poku goal ('47) in the second period, they could not prevent a comeback by Tunisia with goals by Moke ('77 own) and Badri ('79).
The result put the Tunisians top of Group A with 10 points. DR Congo is second with 7 points. In their next game, Tunisia will meet third-placed Guinea at the Stade des Martyrs de la Pentecôte on October 7, while DR Congo will face Libya.
