World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Nigeria defeats Cameroon 4-0
UYO, Sep. 1, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (African Qualifiers) : Nigeria defeated Cameroon by a big score of 4-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Friday afternoon at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
Nigeria dominated the first half thanks to goals from Ighalo ('29) and John Obi Mikel ('42). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Nigerians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Moses '55 and Iheanacho '76).
The result put the Nigerians top of Group B with 9 points. Cameroon is second with 2 points. In their next game, Nigeria will meet second-placed Cameroon at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on September 4, while Cameroon will face Nigeria.
