World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Cameroon and Nigeria tied at 1-1
YAOUNDé, Sep. 4, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (African Qualifiers) : Cameroon tied 1-1 with Nigeria (halftime: 0-1), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Monday night at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaoundé.
The Nigerians started off well by taking the lead thanks to Simon in the 30th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Cameroon with a saving goal from Cameroonian forward Vincent Aboubakar on penalty in the 75th minute.
The result put the Nigerians top of Group B with 10 points. Cameroon is third with 3 points. In their next game, Nigeria will meet second-placed Zambia at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium on October 7, while Cameroon will face Algeria.
