World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Cameroon beats Algeria 2-0
YAOUNDé, Oct. 7, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (African Qualifiers) : Cameroon defeated Algeria by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Saturday afternoon at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaoundé.
Cameroon dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by N'Jie in the 25th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Cameroonians further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Pangop with just 2 minutes remaining in regulation time.
The result put the Cameroonians third in Group B with 6 points. Algeria is bottom with one point. In their last game, Cameroon will meet second-placed Zambia at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium on November 11, while Algeria will face Nigeria.
