World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Nigeria beats Zambia 1-0
UYO, Oct. 7, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (African Qualifiers) : Nigeria defeated Zambia by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Saturday afternoon at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Nigerian forward Alex Iwobi in the 73rd minute.
The result put the Nigerians top of Group B with 13 points. Zambia is second with 7 points. In their last game, Nigeria will meet Algeria at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on November 10, while Zambia will face Cameroon.
