World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Morocco beats Gabon 3-0
CASABLANCA, Oct. 7, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (African Qualifiers) : Morocco defeated Gabon by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Saturday night at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca.
Khalid Boutaïb scored tripple goals
Morocco dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by French forward Khalid Boutaïb in the 38th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Moroccans further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Boutaïb '56, '72).
The result put the Moroccans top of Group C with 9 points. Gabon is third with 5 points. In their last game, Morocco will meet second-placed Ivory Coast at the Mohammed V Stadium on November 11, while Gabon will face Mali.
