PRAIA, Nov. 12, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (African Qualifiers) : Burkina Faso defeated Cape Verde by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Saturday afternoon at the Cape Verde National Stadium in Praia.
All the action happened in the first half, with goals from Dayo ('2) and Nakoulma ('28).
The result put the Burkinabé top of Group D with 4 points. Cape Verde is bottom with no points. In their next game, Burkina Faso will meet second-placed Senegal at the Cape Verde National Stadium on September 2, while Cape Verde will face South Africa.
