PRAIA, Oct. 7, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (African Qualifiers) : Senegal defeated Cape Verde by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Saturday afternoon at the Cape Verde National Stadium in Praia.
Cape Verde made the Senegaleses doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with goals by Sakho ('81) and N'Doye ('90).
The result put the Senegalese top of Group D with 8 points. Cape Verde is third with 6 points. In their next game, Senegal will meet South Africa at the Cape Verde National Stadium on November 10, while Cape Verde will face Burkina Faso.
