World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Egypt defeats Congo-Brazzaville 2-1
CONGO-BRAZZAVILLE, Oct. 9, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (African Qualifiers) : Egypt defeated Congo-Brazzaville by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-1), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Sunday afternoon at the Kintélé Municipal Stadium in Congo-Brazzaville.
Doré opened the score in the 24th minute, before seeing Egypt catch up in the 41st minute thanks to Mohamed Salah. 1-1 at half time. The Egyptians eventually won the game in the second period with with a goal by Said in the 58th minute.
The result put the Egyptians top of Group E with 3 points. In their next game, Egypt will meet second-placed Ghana at the Kintélé Municipal Stadium on November 13, while Congo-Brazzaville will face Uganda.
