World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Egypt beats Ghana 2-0
ALEXANDRIA, Nov. 13, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (African Qualifiers) : Egypt defeated Ghana by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Sunday night at the Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria.
Egypt dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by midfielder Mohamed Salah in the 42nd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Egyptians further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Said with just 5 minutes remaining in regulation time.
The result put the Egyptians top of Group E with 6 points. Ghana is third with one point. In their next game, Egypt will meet second-placed Uganda at the Borg El Arab Stadium on August 31, while Ghana will face Congo-Brazzaville.
