KAMPALA, Aug. 31, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (African Qualifiers) : Uganda defeated Egypt by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday afternoon at the Mandela National Stadium in Kampala.
45 minutes of play and neither the Ugandans nor the Egyptians have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Okwi in the 51st minute.
The result put the Ugandans top of Group E with 7 points. Egypt is second with 6 points. In their next game, Uganda will meet second-placed Egypt at the Mandela National Stadium on September 5, while Egypt will face Uganda.
