ALEXANDRIA, Oct. 8, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (African Qualifiers) : Egypt defeated Congo-Brazzaville by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Sunday night at the Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria.
Mohamed Salah scored dual goals
Congo-Brazzaville made the Egyptians doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with two goals by Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Salah at '63 and '90 (on penalty).
The result put the Egyptians top of Group E with 12 points. Congo-Brazzaville is bottom with one point. In their last game, Egypt will meet third-placed Ghana at the Borg El Arab Stadium on November 12, while Congo-Brazzaville will face Uganda.
