MANAGUA, Mar. 23, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (American Qualifiers) : Nicaragua defeated Anguilla by a big score of 5-0 (halftime: 4-0), in the first leg of a World Cup qualifier tie on Monday night at the Dennis Martinez National Stadium in Managua.
Copete scored dual goals
Nicaragua dominated the first half thanks to goals from Galeano ('12), Copete ('24, '39) and Barrera ('36). Leading 4-0 at the break, the Nicaraguans further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Lazo in the 63rd minute.
The second leg between Nicaragua and Anguilla will be played on Sunday March 29, 2015 (kick-off: 17:00) in The Valley.
