World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Panama defeats Jamaica 2-0
KINGSTON, Nov. 13, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (American Qualifiers) : Panama defeated Jamaica by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Friday night at the Independence Park in Kingston.
Panama dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by defender Armando Cooper in the 43rd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Panamanians further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Morgan into his own net in the 52nd minute.
The result put the Panamanians top of Group B with 3 points. In their next game, Panama will meet second-placed Costa Rica at the Independence Park on November 17, while Jamaica will face Haiti.
