World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Jamaica and Costa Rica tied at 1-1
KINGSTON, Mar. 25, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (American Qualifiers) : Jamaica tied 1-1 with Costa Rica (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Friday night at the Independence Park in Kingston.
The Jamaicans started off well by taking the lead thanks to Watson in the 16th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Costa Rica with a saving goal from Costa Rican defender Johnny Acosta in the 67th minute.
The result put the Costa Ricans top of Group B with 7 points. Jamaica is third with 4 points. In their next game, Costa Rica will meet third-placed Jamaica at the Independence Park on March 29, while Jamaica will face Costa Rica.
