World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Costa Rica beats Jamaica 3-0
SAN JOSé, Mar. 29, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (American Qualifiers) : Costa Rica defeated Jamaica by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night at the Costa Rica National Stadium in San José.
Costa Rica dominated the first half thanks to goals from Borges ('7) and Ruiz ('37). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Costa Ricans further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Venegas in the 76th minute.
The result put the Costa Ricans top of Group B with 10 points. Jamaica is third with 4 points. In their next game, Costa Rica will meet Haiti at the Costa Rica National Stadium on September 2, while Jamaica will face Panama.
