PANAMA CITY, Mar. 29, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (American Qualifiers) : Panama defeated Haiti by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night at the Rommel Fernandez Stadium in Panama City.
45 minutes of play and neither the Panamanians nor the Haitians have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Baloy with just 9 minutes remaining in regulation time.
The result put the Panamanians second in Group B with 7 points. Haiti is bottom with one point. In their next game, Panama will meet third-placed Jamaica at the Rommel Fernandez Stadium on September 2, while Haiti will face Costa Rica.
