World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Panama beats Jamaica 2-0
PANAMA CITY, Sep. 2, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (American Qualifiers) : Panama defeated Jamaica by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Friday night at the Rommel Fernandez Stadium in Panama City.
Panama dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Torres in the 28th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Panamanians further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Arroyo in stoppage time.
The result put the Panamanians second in Group B with 10 points. Jamaica is third with 4 points. In their last game, Panama will meet group leaders Costa Rica at the Rommel Fernandez Stadium on September 6, while Jamaica will face Haiti.
