World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Costa Rica and Panama qualify for the final stage
SAN JOSé, Sep. 6, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (American Qualifiers) : Costa Rica defeated Panama by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a World Cup qualifying game on Tuesday night at the Costa Rica National Stadium in San José.
Christian Bolaños scored dual goals
Costa Rica dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by midfielder Christian Bolaños in the 19th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Costa Ricans further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Bolaños '79 and Matarrita '84).
