GUATEMALA CITY, Nov. 13, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (American Qualifiers) : Trinidad and Tobago defeated Guatemala by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Friday night at the Estadio Mateo Flores in Guatemala City.
45 minutes of play and neither the Trinidadians nor the Guatemalans have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with goals by Hyland ('67) and Jones ('80).
The result put the Trinidadians second in Group C with 3 points. In their next game, Trinidad and Tobago will meet group leaders the United States at the Estadio Mateo Flores on November 17, while Guatemala will face Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
