World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : USA beats Guatemala 4-0
COLUMBUS, Mar. 29, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (American Qualifiers) : The United States defeated Guatemala by a big score of 4-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night at the Mapfre Stadium in Columbus.
The United States dominated the first half thanks to goals from Dempsey ('12) and Cameron ('35). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Americans further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Zusi '46 and Altidore '89).
The result put the Americans second in Group C with 7 points. Guatemala is third with 6 points. In their next game, the United States will meet Saint Vincent and the Grenadines at the Mapfre Stadium on September 2, while Guatemala will face Trinidad and Tobago.
