BUENOS AIRES, Oct. 8, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (South American Qualifiers) : Ecuador defeated Argentina by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Thursday night at the Estadio Monumental in Buenos Aires.
Argentina made the Ecuadorians doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with goals by Erazo ('81) and Caicedo ('82).
The result put the Ecuadorians top of the group with 3 points. In their next game, Ecuador will meet Bolivia at the Estadio Monumental on October 13, while Argentina will face Paraguay.
