CIUDAD GUAYANA, Oct. 8, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (South American Qualifiers) : Paraguay defeated Venezuela by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Thursday afternoon at the Polideportivo Cachamay in Ciudad Guayana.
45 minutes of play and neither the Paraguayans nor the Venezuelans have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by González with just 5 minutes remaining in regulation time.
The result put the Paraguayans third in the group with 3 points. In their next game, Paraguay will meet second-placed Argentina at the Polideportivo Cachamay on October 13, while Venezuela will face Brazil.
