FORTALEZA, Oct. 13, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (South American Qualifiers) : Brazil defeated Venezuela by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Tuesday night at the Castelao Stadium in Fortaleza.
Willian scored dual goals
Brazil dominated the first half thanks to goals from Willian ('1, '42). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Brazilians further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Ricardo Oliveira in the 73rd minute.
The result put the Brazilians 5th in the group with 3 points. Venezuela is 9th with no points. In their next game, Brazil will meet Argentina at the Castelao Stadium on November 13, while Venezuela will face Bolivia.
