QUITO, Oct. 13, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (South American Qualifiers) : Ecuador defeated Bolivia by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Tuesday afternoon at the Atahualpa Olympic Stadium in Quito.
45 minutes of play and neither the Ecuadorians nor the Bolivians have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with goals by M. Bolaños ('81) and Caicedo ('90 on penalty).
The result put the Ecuadorians top of the group with 6 points. Bolivia is bottom with no points. In their next game, Ecuador will meet second-placed Uruguay at the Atahualpa Olympic Stadium on November 12, while Bolivia will face Venezuela.
