World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Chile beats Peru 4-3
LIMA, Oct. 13, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (South American Qualifiers) : Chile defeated Peru by a score of 4-3 (halftime: 3-2), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Tuesday night at the National Stadium in Lima.
Alexis Sánchez and Eduardo Vargas scored dual goals
Chile dominated the first half thanks to goals from Sánchez ('7, '44) and Vargas ('41). Leading 3-2 at the break, the Chilians further widened their lead in the second period with another goal by Vargas in the 49th minute.
The result put the Chilians third in the group with 6 points. Peru is 9th with no points. In their next game, Chile will meet Colombia at the National Stadium on November 12, while Peru will face Paraguay.
