World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Chile and Colombia play to a 1-1 draw
SANTIAGO, Nov. 12, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (South American Qualifiers) : Chile tied 1-1 with Colombia (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Thursday night at the Estadio Nacional de Chile in Santiago.
The Chilians started off well by taking the lead thanks to Chilian midfielder Arturo Vidal in the 45th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Colombia with a saving goal from Colombian midfielder James Rodríguez in the 68th minute.
The result put the Chilians second in the group with 7 points. Colombia is 5th with 4 points. In their next game, Chile will meet third-placed Uruguay at the Estadio Nacional de Chile on November 17, while Colombia will face Argentina.
