World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Brazil beats Peru 3-0
SALVADOR, Nov. 17, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (South American Qualifiers) : Brazil defeated Peru by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Tuesday night at the Arena Fonte Nova in Salvador.
Brazil dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Douglas Costa in the 22nd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Brazilians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Renato Augusto '57 and Filipe Luís '76).
The result put the Brazilians third in the group with 7 points. Peru is 9th with 3 points. In their next game, Brazil will meet second-placed Uruguay at the Arena Fonte Nova on March 25, while Peru will face Venezuela.
