ASUNCIóN, Nov. 17, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (South American Qualifiers) : Paraguay defeated Bolivia by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Tuesday night at the Defensores del Chaco Stadium in Asunción.
45 minutes of play and neither the Paraguayans nor the Bolivians have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with goals by Lezcano ('61) and Barrios ('64).
The result put the Paraguayans third in the group with 7 points. Bolivia is 9th with 3 points. In their next game, Paraguay will meet group leaders Ecuador at the Defensores del Chaco Stadium on March 24, while Bolivia will face Colombia.
